Lex Barker - Photos by Edward Quinn

Lana Turner and Lex Barker came to the Cannes Film Festival in 1953. Lex Barker became first known by swinging from the trees as Tarzan the 10th. In 1941 he enlisted in the United States Army. He rose from private to major and served as aide to General Mark Clark. After the war he played bit parts and then appeared mostly in westerns. In 1953 Lex Barker married Lana Turner. The marriage lasted four years. Lana Turner became known as the «Sweater Girl». She was very photogenic and had a few bit parts, but then she rose to stardom in 1941 with the release of «Ziegfield Girl». She was married several times and had one daughter Cheryl who got very much into the news re the Stompanato case. Cannes 1953.
