Windsor, Duke of (ex King Edward VIII)

  • Edward Duke of Windsor and his dog fighting against a sudden blast at Nice Airport. The Duke came to the airport to fetch the Duchess of Windsor and then they drove on to the Carlton Hotel in Cannes. Some years before, the Duke and the Duchess had lived nearby at the Château de la Croe which later became the property of Mr. Onassis. In the gardens of the Château there still is a small tombstone in memory of their pet dog, inscribed "Preezie A Faithful Little Friend of Edward and Wallis. Duke and Duchess of Windsor".
